Job summary

WSP seeks a Business Development Leader for Data Center – Power Systems to drive growth with data center clients. You will lead commercial and strategic initiatives, build a global internal network, and represent WSP at conferences as a senior business leader.

Ideal candidate has 15+ years in data center power systems, strong leadership and communication skills, and established client relationships. Travel will be required to engage clients and sector activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in data center power systems or critical facilities management in power generation and power delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of power systems and power redundancy design.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Business Development Leader Data Center – Power Systems. We are seeking an experienced leader to drive the business development & growth of power systems with our data center infrastructure clients. This role will foster client facing communications and interact with multidisciplinary delivery teams ensuring client satisfaction and team connectivity.

Your Impact
  • Lead commercial and strategic initiatives in data center power market in partnership with organizational leaders & delivery teams.
  • Build internal WSP network of resources across business and global regions - mobilized to deliver holistic solutions for our customers.
  • Represent WSP at conferences, as part of client teams and as a business leader.
  • Foster innovative business development strategies in data center power systems market.
  • Cultivate long‑term partnerships with clients, vendors, and ecosystem partners.
  • Client‑facing engagement to build and expand key client relationships.
  • Oversee proposal preparation and market capture efforts including validating execution strategies to achieve customer goals & objectives.
  • Facilitate commercial term negotiations and coordinate efforts across delivery teams.
  • Ensure ethical decision‑making and alignment with WSP's Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in data center power systems or critical facilities management in power generation and power delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of power systems and power redundancy design.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication abilities.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non‑engineering audience.
  • Demonstrated high‑level of self‑leadership with diligence, multi‑tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts.
  • Travel will be required to support employee engagement, clients, and/or sector activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with large‑scale data center operations and power system needs.
  • Familiarity with conventional and renewable energy integration and power monitoring tools.
  • Project management certification (PMP).

Compensation

Expected Salary: $197,500 - $271,080

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
