Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Developer to advance utility-scale battery energy storage projects in California's CAISO market.

You will shepherd opportunities from feasibility through interconnection, regulatory review, and construction readiness, coordinating with landowners, utilities, and regulators. You will shape project economics, lead cross-functional teams, and liaise with external consultants to navigate permitting and interconnection processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience developing utility-scale renewable energy or energy storage projects.
• Experience in CAISO market, permitting, interconnection, and regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of utility-scale battery energy storage projects across the CAISO market from feasibility through construction readiness.
• Drive land acquisition, permitting, environmental review, interconnection, design, and commercial structuring with internal teams and external consultants.
• Manage permitting and regulatory processes, including agency coordination, submissions, hearings, and compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, community stakeholders, utilities, regulators, and project partners.
• Assess risks, opportunities, and development strategies to support project advancement and investment decisions.
• Support power marketing, energy offtake, project financing, due diligence, and M&A activities including business case materials.
• Maintain schedules, budgets, and governance to ensure milestones are met.
• Monitor market, regulatory, and policy developments while representing ENGIE at events and forums.
