Job summary

Plus Power seeks a Senior Project & Commissioning Engineer to join the EPC team. This role provides technical support for the design, construction, and commissioning of utility-scale standalone battery energy storage systems across North America, reporting to the Senior Manager, EPC Engineering.

The position emphasizes data-driven, collaborative problem solving, cross-functional leadership, and coordination with developers, contractors, and utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Power focus preferred.
• 5-7+ years in project engineering, development, procurement, and construction in power.
• Experience with high-voltage substations, switchyards, and transmission systems.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical deliverables for design, construction, and commissioning of BESS projects with EPC firms.
• Support EPC Leadership on supplier/contractor management across equipment vendors.
• Collaborate with Transmission, Interconnection, and Market Analysis for interconnection agreements.
• Prepare RFQ/RFP packages for EPC contractors and engineering consultants.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, cash flow, and technical contract requirements.
• Attend meetings with developers, contractors, consultants, and utilities.
• Travel to project sites to support tasks across the project lifecycle.
• Assist with permitting and regulatory applications and respond to inquiries.
