ENGIE North America is seeking a Project Developer to advance utility-scale battery energy storage projects across the CAISO market in California. You will guide projects from feasibility through interconnection, permitting, and construction readiness, collaborating with land acquisition, permitting, engineering, and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of experience developing utility-scale renewable energy, energy storage, transmission, infrastructure, or other large-scale capital projects.
• Experience advancing projects through permitting, interconnection, regulatory review, stakeholder engagement, and construction readiness.
• Experience developing projects within the CAISO market, with knowledge of California regulatory and interconnection processes; other ISO/RTO markets considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of utility-scale battery energy storage projects across the CAISO market from feasibility through construction readiness.
• Drive development workstreams: land acquisition, permitting, environmental review, interconnection, project design, and commercial structuring with internal teams and external consultants.
• Manage project permitting and regulatory processes, including agency coordination, submissions, hearings, and compliance activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, stakeholders, utilities, regulatory agencies, and project partners.
• Assess project risks, opportunities, and development strategies to support advancement and investment decisions.
• Support power marketing, energy offtake, project financing, due diligence, and M&A activities including business-case development.
• Maintain project schedules, budgets, reporting, and governance to meet milestones and objectives.
• Monitor market, regulatory, and policy developments affecting energy storage and represent ENGIE at events and forums.
