Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking a Senior Battery Engineer to own energy storage system (ESS) delivery from concept to production for our next-generation drone products. You will lead cell selection, pack design, and collaborate with mechanical and product teams to meet performance and cost targets.

The role emphasizes hands-on build, testing, and fielded system sustainment, with extensive experience in energy storage, BMS awareness, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting energy storage systems.
• Past ownership of battery pack design and prototype assembly.
• Experience delivering energy storage systems from prototype to production.
• Experience with BMS design or validation against requirements.
• Knowledge of CAD tools and safety standards (UN38.3, NAVSEA S9310).

Responsibilities

• Own End-to-End ESS Delivery from concept to production on accelerated timelines.
• Serve as the main interface between Core Battery Group and product teams.
• Define ESS requirements from user stories/CONOPs.
• Drive battery cell selection with de-risking and validation.
• Lead design iterations with mechanical engineering for production packs.
• Support manufacturing ramp with DFMEAs and validation.
• Hands-on battery bring-up, test, and vehicle integration.
• Sustain fielded ESS with root-cause analysis and updates.
