Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Battery Engineer in Costa Mesa, CA to lead energy storage system development from concept to full-rate production. You will own packs, select cells, validate designs, and partner with mechanical engineers to ensure production readiness.

The role demands deep hands-on experience in defense or electrification sectors and strong ownership mindset. You will collaborate with the Core Battery Group and internal product teams, translating CONOPs into actionable

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in EE/ME/manufacturing or physical sciences with energy storage focus; 3+ years designing and testing ESS.
Ownership of battery pack design and prototype assembly.
Experience delivering high-performance ESS with technical ownership.
Experience taking ESS from prototype to production.
Familiarity with BMS design, algorithms, and validation.
Familiarity with battery cell characterization methods and modeling in MATLAB/Simulink.
CAD experience with CATIA/NX/SolidWorks.
Knowledge of UN38.3, NAVSEA S9310 or equivalent battery safety standards.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end ESS delivery from concept to production under accelerated timelines.
Serve as the main interface between Core Battery Group and product teams.
Define ESS requirements from user stories and CONOPs.
Lead battery cell selection through de-risking and validation.
Lead design iterations with mechanical engineering for production readiness.
Support manufacturing ramp with validation and DFMEAs.
Hands-on battery bring-up, testing, debugging, and vehicle integration work.
Sustain fielded ESSs through root-cause analysis and countermeasures.
