Job summary

Matrix Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Batch Engineer to design, configure, test, commission, and support ISA-88 based batch solutions for manufacturing clients.

You will lead projects involving DCS/PLC, HMI/SCADA, historians, and integration tech, interfacing with operations and clients to deliver reliable automation. The role requires strong process controls experience, about 6+ years in batch automation, travel of 15-25%, and legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Minimum six years of controls, automation, electrical troubleshooting, and start-up experience.
• Experience with ISA-88 terminology and batch design principles.
• Experience with batch or process automation platforms such as FactoryTalk Batch, PlantPAx, Siemens SIMATIC BATCH, AVEVA/Wonderware.
• Experience with PLC/DCS platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View, AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC).
• Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC DA/UA).
• Willingness to travel 15–25% and work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow industry, Matrix, and client safety practices and procedures.
• Mentor others and contribute to continuous improvement of batch automation standards.
• Lead or support scope development, design concepts, cost estimates, schedules, and technical assumptions for batch projects.
• Gather data, review control system designs, and develop functional specifications and batch documentation.
• Develop or coordinate DCS/PLC code, HMI graphics, and historian integration.
• Lead software development, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Troubleshoot batch execution issues and interface problems across PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.
