Job summary

Matrix Technologies, Inc. in Maumee, OH is seeking a Senior Batch Engineer to design, configure, test, commission, and support batch control solutions for manufacturing clients. The role requires strong ISA-88 knowledge and hands-on experience with batch platforms and PLC/DCS systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in ABET-accredited engineering from a relevant field.
Minimum six years in controls, automation, electrical troubleshooting, and startup; senior batch automation exp required.
Hands-on with ISA-88 batch concepts, recipe management, and procedural control.
Experience with batch or process automation platforms such as Rockwell, PlantPAx, Siemens SIMATIC BATCH, AVEVA/Wonderware.
Experience with PLC/DCS platforms used in process manufacturing.
Experience developing or supporting HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View, AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC).
Experience with industrial protocols: Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC DA/UA.
Travel approx 15-25%; must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Learn and follow industry, Matrix, and client safety practices and procedures. Help supervise site-team safety responsibilities and support compliance with policy.
Mentor others in Matrix Standards; participate in continuous improvement of batch standards and templates.
Apply Matrix Project Methodology with emphasis on software development and batch implementation.
Lead or support scoping, design concepts, cost estimates, schedules for batch automation projects.
Gather field data, review control designs, and develop functional specs, control narratives, and test plans.
Design, configure, and support ISA-88 batch solutions including recipes, procedures, and reports.
Develop or coordinate DCS/PLC code, HMI graphics, batch interfaces, historian integration.
Lead software development and testing activities, FAT/SAT, commissioning and start-up support.
Troubleshoot batch execution issues, recipe configuration problems, and integration issues.
Develop high-quality industrial automation software aligned with client standards.
Communicate with other disciplines to deliver integrated automation solutions.
Serve as technical resource; identify new project opportunities and support proposals.
Provide leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
