Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior BAS Programmer to support commercial and institutional projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth market. You will lead programming, graphics, startup, commissioning, and turnover for complex building automation systems in diverse facilities.

You will collaborate with project managers, field technicians, engineers, and customers to deliver reliable HVAC control and energy management solutions, from control drawings to final as-built documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience programming and commissioning Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS/DDC).
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, electrical controls, and control sequences.
• Experience interpreting MEP drawings, control diagrams, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Working knowledge of BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus, and IP networking.
• Experience with BAS graphics, trends, alarms, scheduling, and system integration.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot both controls and mechanical/HVAC issues.
• Experience supporting system startup, commissioning, and project turnover.
• Strong organization and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a field-driven environment.
• Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, and commission BAS/DDC control systems for HVAC and mechanical equipment.
• Develop control logic based on sequences of operation, mechanical plans, specifications, and control drawings.
• Program and configure controllers, field devices, supervisory controllers, and BAS networks.
• Create and integrate system graphics, animations, trends, alarms, schedules, and user interfaces.
• Perform system startup, point-to-point checkout, functional testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot programming, communication, network, controller, sensor, and HVAC system issues.
• Configure and troubleshoot IP-based communications and BAS networks.
• Support integration of third‑party equipment and systems using common building automation protocols.
• Assist with Test & Balance (TAB) coordination and system performance verification.
• Review drawings in the field and provide accurate redlines for final as‑built documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, field technicians, mechanical contractors, electricians, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Provide system demonstrations and training to building owners, facility teams, and end users.
• Support less‑experienced programmers and technicians with troubleshooting and technical questions as needed.
• Ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
