Job summary

Jobot in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior BAS Programmer / Building Automation Engineer to design, program, and commission BAS/DDC systems for commercial facilities. The role collaborates with project managers, field technicians, and engineers to deliver high-performing HVAC control solutions.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on BAS programming experience, strong HVAC knowledge, and the ability to read MEP drawings and control diagrams.

Qualifications

• Experience programming and commissioning BAS/BMS/DDC
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment and control sequences
• Ability to read MEP drawings, control diagrams, specs and sequences
• Working knowledge of BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus, and IP networking
• Experience with BAS graphics, trends, alarms, scheduling, and system integration
• Ability to independently troubleshoot controls and mechanical/HVAC issues
• Experience supporting startup, commissioning, and project turnover
• Strong organization and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a field-driven environment
• Clear communication and customer-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, and commission BAS/DDC systems for HVAC equipment
• Develop control logic from sequences, plans, specs and drawings
• Configure controllers, field devices, supervisory controllers, and BAS networks
• Create system graphics, trends, alarms, schedules, and user interfaces
• Perform startup, point-to-point checkout, testing and commissioning
• Troubleshoot programming, network, controller, sensor and HVAC issues
• Support IP-based BAS networks and third-party integrations
• Assist with TAB coordination and system performance verification
• Provide redlines for as-built documentation and coordinate stakeholders
• Deliver system demonstrations and training to owners and facility teams
• Mentor less-experienced staff with troubleshooting and questions
• Ensure high quality, efficient project delivery with strong customer focus
