Job summary

Herrington on the Bay is seeking a Banquet Manager to lead an experienced hospitality team for luxury weddings and special events in a premier waterfront venue in Maryland.

Responsibilities include managing event-day operations, beverage and staffing, coaching the Front of House staff, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining service standards and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of leadership experience in hospitality, banquet operations, catering, restaurants, hotels, or event venues.
• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events under tight deadlines.
• Outstanding communication, problem-solving and leadership skills for liaising with clients, vendors, and team members.
• Experience in banquet, catering, or event operations with strong hospitality and guest service standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office and event management software such as Caterease.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons.
• Must be able to legally serve alcohol in Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Lead all event-day operations from setup through breakdown.
• Ensure weddings and events run to timelines and client expectations.
• Oversee logistics and resolve operational challenges in real time.
• Coordinate with Event Coordinators for seamless transitions.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Event Coordinator team and Front of House staff.
• Foster hospitality, accountability, and teamwork through coaching and performance management.
