Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead design, development, and implementation of complex digital solutions and systems. You will architect scalable applications, drive testing, mentor engineers, and shape the technical direction of digital engineering projects.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, operations, and clinical stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance software that advances CVS Health's digital

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with Back End focus.
• 3+ years with Java fundamentals, Spring Boot, and Spring ecosystem.
• 3+ years with GraphQL, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• 3+ years of database design and optimization for relational and NoSQL.
• 2+ years of SDLC, Git, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
• 2+ years of code reviews and testing strategies with modern frameworks.
• 2+ years of cloud-native development and deployment patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of scalable digital solutions.
• Write high-quality production-ready code and complex components.
• Drive architectural decisions ensuring scalability, security and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers through reviews and pairing.
• Champion testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.
• Own QA: write tests, review code, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Lead technical discussions with product, operations, and clinical teams.
• Support agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
• Create technical documentation and runbooks.
• Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and optimize performance.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and mentor others.
