Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend-focused engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs (public TTS API, Payment, Subscription, Auth) and oversee the full API landscape for performance and scale.

The ideal candidate has strong TS/Node experience, cloud familiarity (GCP/AWS/Azure), and enjoys fast-paced environments while delivering excellent user experiences. Remote-friendly, distributed team.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Ability to design scalable APIs and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
