Job summary

Speechify is seeking a backend engineer to design and scale APIs powering TTS, payments, subscriptions, and analytics. This role emphasizes strategic thinking, rapid delivery, and strong user-focused engineering.

You will collaborate across teams to improve performance, reliability, and developer experience, while working asynchronously in a fully remote environment with stock options and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with TS/Node.
• Hands-on cloud experience with GCP and at least one other provider.
• Experience deploying containerized apps (Docker) and Kubernetes.
• Design-and-build mindset for scalable, high availability APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs (public TTS and internal).
• Oversee backend API landscape for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on enterprise client integrations and customization.
• Align backend architecture with product strategy and UX.
