Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Developer for a 100% remote role in the U.S. You will design, build, and operate platform services used by multiple engineering teams, focusing on high-throughput backend capabilities with low latency.

The ideal candidate has 11+ years of backend or platform engineering, deep distributed systems knowledge, and strong leadership and mentoring skills. This position offers full-time employment with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of backend or platform engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating internal platforms used by multiple engineering teams.
• Design distributed systems with strong consistency, availability, latency, and failure-mode considerations.
• Proficiency in at least one major backend language (Java/Go/Scala/Rust/C++).
• Experience with high-throughput messaging/streaming (Kafka/Pulsar/NATS).
• Knowledge of data storage across relational, key-value, document, and search workloads.
• Proven ability to lead multi-quarter platform initiatives and manage stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and ability to write technical design docs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate foundational backend platforms and shared services.
• Develop backend platform capabilities like routing, traffic management, data fan-out, caching, asynchronous jobs, and durable event processing.
• Ensure system can handle very high traffic volumes with predictable latency and low toil.
• Lead multi-team platform initiatives and drive technical decisions and roadmaps.
