Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable platform services in a 100% remote US role. You will own backend platform capabilities, including high-throughput routing, data fan-out, caching layers, and event-driven processing to support multiple product teams.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of backend or platform engineering, deep distributed systems expertise, and a track record of leading cross-team platform initiatives.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of professional backend or platform engineering experience.
• Track record building and operating internal platforms or shared services consumed by multiple teams.
• Design distributed systems with attention to consistency, availability, latency, and failure modes.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one major backend language such as Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or modern C++.
• Deep understanding of high-throughput messaging, streaming, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pulsar, NATS).
• Working knowledge of data storage systems across relational, key-value, document, and search workloads.
• Experience leading multi-quarter platform initiatives with stakeholder management and technical decision-making.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to author design documents and present trade-offs.
• Ability to mentor engineers and shape engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate foundational platform services used by multiple teams.
• Develop backend platform capabilities: routing, traffic management, data fan-out, caching, asynchronous jobs, and durable event processing.
• Lead platform initiatives across teams with clear technical decisions and stakeholder alignment.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to code/design reviews and onboarding.
