Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Lead Backend Developer to design, build, and operate large-scale backend platforms and shared services. The role emphasizes high-throughput systems, low latency, and developer-friendly platforms that empower multiple engineering teams.

You will lead platform initiatives across quarters, mentor engineers, and define robust backend architecture using modern languages and event-driven patterns in a fully remote US setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of professional backend or platform engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating internal platforms or shared services.
• Expertise designing distributed systems with a focus on consistency, availability, latency, and failure modes.
• Proficiency in at least one major backend language (Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or modern C++).
• Knowledge of high-throughput messaging and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pulsar, NATS).
• Experience leading multi-quarter platform initiatives and stakeholder management.
• Strong communication and ability to document designs clearly.
• Mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate foundational platforms and shared services used by multiple teams.
• Develop backend platform capabilities: routing, traffic management, data fan-out, caching, and durable processing.
• Ensure high traffic with predictable latency and low operational toil.
• Lead multi-quarter platform initiatives with cross-team collaboration and clear decision making.
• Mentor engineers, review designs, and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
