Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a technically fluent Backend Capability Product Specialist to own the backend platform, API ecosystem, and third‑party integration layer of our SaaS product suite. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, business strategy, and market intelligence—driving scalable, interoperable systems powering internal capabilities and external partner integrations.

You will lead API strategy, governance, and integrations with EHR/EMR platforms, monitor market trends, and build

Qualifications

7+ years of product management experience
4+ years focused on backend systems, APIs, or platform products
Experience delivering SaaS platform features at scale
Deep understanding of RESTful API design and modern integration patterns
Hands-on experience with API management platforms
Strong ROI modeling and market sizing skills
Demonstrated API/platform strategy leadership

Responsibilities

Own the product roadmap for backend systems, APIs, and data platform capabilities
Define API design standards, versioning, and developer experience principles
Drive scalable, event-driven microservices architecture in collaboration with engineering
Establish and govern API governance frameworks including authentication, rate limiting, and SLA commitments
Lead strategy and execution for third-party integrations and marketplace ecosystem
Monitor healthcare tech market trends and regulatory shifts to inform backend roadmap
Translate complex tech requirements into clear specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Define and track platform KPIs: API adoption, uptime, latency, integration success rates
