Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Backend Capability Product Specialist to own the backend platform, API ecosystem, and third‑party integration layer of our SaaS product suite. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, business strategy, and market intelligence to drive scalable, interoperable systems.

You will own the API roadmap, define design standards, and govern DX while leading integrations with EHR/EMR and health data networks.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of product management experience.
• 4+ years focused on backend systems, APIs, or platform products.
• Proven track record delivering SaaS platform features at scale - ideally in a B2B or enterprise context.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design, webhooks, async messaging, and modern integration patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with API management platforms (e.g., Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Kong, MuleSoft).

Responsibilities

• Own the backend API roadmap and data platform capabilities.
• Define API design standards, versioning strategies, and DX principles.
• Drive the vision for scalable, event‑driven microservices with engineering leads.
• Govern API authentication, rate limiting, SLA commitments.
• Lead strategy and execution for third‑party integrations and marketplace ecosystem.
• Manage vendor evaluation through production go‑live and lifecycle.
