CVS Health is seeking a Backend Capability Product Specialist to own the backend platform, API ecosystem, and third‑party integration layer of our SaaS product suite. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, business strategy, and market intelligence to deliver scalable, interoperable systems.

The ideal candidate combines SaaS platform expertise with a data-driven prioritization approach, valuing healthcare tech, EHR/EMR interoperability, and RESTful APIs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience.
• 4+ years focused on backend systems, APIs, or platform products.
• Proven track record delivering SaaS platform features at scale.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design and modern integration patterns.
• Hands-on experience with API management platforms (e.g., Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Kong, MuleSoft).
• Strong ability to build ROI models, market sizing, and differentiation.

Responsibilities

• Own the product roadmap for backend systems, APIs, and data platform capabilities.
• Define API design standards, versioning strategies, and developer experience (DX) principles.
• Drive the vision for scalable, event-driven microservices in collaboration with engineering.
• Establish and govern API governance frameworks including auth, rate limiting, and SLA commitments.
• Lead strategy and execution for third-party integrations and marketplace ecosystem development.
