Airbnb’s Payments Engineering team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and build scalable payments systems. You’ll collaborate with product, data science and operations to deliver reliable, high-availability services that empower hosts and guests worldwide.

You will lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions across multiple teams while maintaining a strong focus on system quality and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on software engineering experience.
• Experience in Payments/Fintech backend systems.
• Experience leading design and deployment of high-scale payment systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on multi-team initiatives and identify opportunities for business impact.
• Architect and implement complex features with data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to advance processes and foundations.
• Identify patterns to streamline development and improve reliability.
