Job summary

Citi, a leading global bank, seeks a Senior Back-end Java Developer - Trading Platforms in Jersey City, NJ. You will design, build, and sustain scalable back-office trading software with a focus on trunk-based development, TDD/BDD, and secure coding practices.

You will mentor engineers, lead technical discussions, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver high-availability microservices using Kafka, Kubernetes, and cloud-native patterns.

Qualifications

Strong hands-on coding in Kotlin, Java, and Python for production-grade applications.
Deep expertise in microservices, Spring Boot, and high-availability design.
Experience with event-driven systems and messaging (Kafka, Solace, Tibco, MQ).
Solid containerization and cloud-native skills (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable back-office trading applications.
Implement trunk-based development, feature flags, and progressive delivery for CI/CD.
Apply TDD and BDD to ensure high test coverage and reliability.
Lead code reviews and drive secure coding practices.
Collaborate with architects and product teams to design scalable architectures.
Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence.
