Job summary

Citi in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Senior Back-End Java Developer for its back-office trading platform. You will design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems using modern patterns and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities include trunk-based development, TDD/BDD, automated testing, and CI/CD adoption. You will mentor peers and collaborate with architects, product owners, and DevOps to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on coding in Java, Kotlin, Python; production-grade apps.
• Deep microservices and distributed systems experience; low-latency focus.
• Experience with streaming/messaging systems such as Kafka, Solace, Tibco, MQ.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain back-office trading applications.
• Lead trunk-based development, feature flags, and progressive delivery.
• Apply TDD/BDD and drive automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
