Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Back-end Java Developer for its Trading Platforms team in Jersey City. You will design, build, and sustain scalable, high‑performance back‑office trading software using Kotlin/Java and modern microservices. Emphasis on trunk‑based development, test automation, and secure coding.

You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate with architects and product teams, and drive DevOps practices to ensure reliability and low latency in production trading systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
• Proven production-grade Java/Kotlin backend experience in trading or financial domains.
• Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and low latency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance back‑office trading apps.
• Implement trunk‑based development, feature flags, and progressive delivery.
• Apply TDD/BDD to ensure unit test coverage and reliability.
• Drive CI/CD, DevOps practices, IaC, and automated testing.
• Conduct code reviews and security assessments to enforce secure coding.
