Coinbase Advisor seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own backend services powering the Advisor team’s AI-driven portfolio assistant. You will design and ship scalable services, integrate with trading APIs, and evolve the agentic system with robust state management and reliable execution.

You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, high‑quality customer experiences while advancing tool calling, orchestration, and prompt strategies at scale.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Strong API design, distributed systems, data modeling, and debugging production issues.
• Proficiency in Go or ability to learn quickly.
• Experience building production LLM or agentic systems with tool calling.
• Ability to take ambiguous projects from concept to production with sound judgment.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and related strategies from design to launch.
• Build integrations with trading APIs to translate agent recommendations into execution.
• Develop agentic harness including tool calling, orchestration, state, and recovery.
• Shape agent behavior via prompt engineering, evals, and conversation analysis with compliance.
• Improve service reliability, latency, observability, and safeguards against duplicates.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, design, and legal/compliance within regulatory guardrails.
