Job summary

Quanata, LLC is seeking a Senior Manager, Back End Engineering for a remote-US role. You will lead a team responsible for core policy, billing, and financial ledger platforms, delivering scalable, secure systems while guiding architectural decisions and engineering processes.

You will collaborate with Product and Program Management, align execution with business goals, and coach engineers across levels to drive high-impact delivery while maintaining strong stakeholder partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education/experience
• 8–10 years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management
• Experience with personnel development and performance management
• Experience with sprint and roadmap planning, capacity modeling, and resourcing
• Strong technical architecture fluency with focus on backend systems
• Executive-ready written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Coach, lead, and develop a team of mid-level, senior, and staff software engineers.
• Provide architectural guidance and support backend systems decisions.
• Partner with Product/Program Mgmt to drive product delivery.
• Improve engineering processes to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
• Set and manage expectations with leadership and external stakeholders.
• Drive team performance against KPIs for throughput, quality, security, and performance.
• Lead sprint planning, capacity modeling, and resourcing efforts.
• Stay current on industry trends and promote engineering best practices.
