Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to own the Coinbase One membership backend, including sign-up flows, subscription management, and recurring payment processing.

You will build scalable platform capabilities for targeted benefits and personalized experiences, and partner with frontend, product, design, and payments teams to ship features from concept through production. This remote-friendly role emphasizes reliability, observability, and performance across the backend

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience shipping production services.
• Experience with subscription, payments, or commerce systems.
• Proficiency in Go or a similar language with adaptivity to a Go-centric codebase.
• Experience designing APIs and distributed systems across web and mobile.
• Proven ability to scope ambiguous projects with cross-functional teams.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and operation of backend services powering the Coinbase One membership lifecycle.
• Build scalable platform capabilities for targeted benefit delivery and personalized experiences.
