Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend for the Coinbase One team. You will own backend services powering the membership lifecycle from sign-up to recurring payments and benefit delivery, collaborating with frontend, product, design, and payments to iterate features.

The role emphasizes building scalable API-driven systems, improving reliability, and shipping in a Go-centric codebase while leveraging AI responsibly for workflow improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Experience with subscription, payments, or commerce systems.
• Proficient in Go and adaptable to Go-centric codebases.
• Design and operate APIs and distributed systems across surfaces.
• Collaborate with product/design and leverage AI responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and operation of backend services powering the Coinbase One membership lifecycle.
• Build scalable platform capabilities for targeted benefits and promotions across the retail app.
• Partner with frontend, product, design, and payments teams to ship features end-to-end.
• Drive backend architecture decisions for reliability and extensibility.
• Improve service reliability, observability, and performance across the backend stack.
