Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience shipping and operating production services at scale.
• Experience building subscription, payments, or commerce systems including recurring billing, entitlements, or promotions.
• Proficiency in Go or a similar backend language with ability to adapt to a Go-centric codebase.
• Design and maintain APIs and distributed systems that integrate across web and mobile surfaces.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product and design partners from scoping through production.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and operation of backend services powering the Coinbase One membership lifecycle, including sign-up flows, subscription management, and recurring payment processing.
• Build scalable platform capabilities for targeted benefit delivery and personalized membership experiences across the Coinbase retail app.
• Partner with frontend, product, design, and payments teams to scope, ship, and iterate on membership features from concept to production.
• Drive backend architecture decisions for Coinbase One, establishing patterns for reliability and integration with Coinbase platform services.
• Improve service reliability, observability, and performance across Coinbase One's backend stack and resolve production issues.
