Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a 100% remote role in the U.S. with 7+ years of experience. The position is full-time, direct W2 with a salary range of $100,000–$112,000 annually.

You will design, build, and operate large-scale backend services, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance across distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have strong CS fundamentals, experience with Kafka and cloud platforms, and the ability to mentor teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with significant time on distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala, or similar.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consensus, replication, and CAP trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput message systems such as Kafka.
• Experience operating systems at scale, including capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with both relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect core platforms used by other engineering teams for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Balance trade-offs between consistency, availability, and latency.
