Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate high-throughput platform services that power multiple engineering teams across the U.S. This remote role emphasizes developer experience, scalable architecture, and reliable, low-latency backend systems.

You will mentor engineers, lead architectural discussions, and champion platform standards for APIs, data streaming, and deployment in a fast-paced cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience.
• Experience building internal platforms or shared services used by multiple teams.
• Strong design of distributed systems with emphasis on consistency, availability, latency, and failure modes.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or modern C++.

Responsibilities

• Design and build internal platform services used by hundreds of engineers daily, focusing on developer experience and ergonomics.
• Architect high-throughput, latency-sensitive backend platforms with scalable capacity.
• Build durable, replayable event-processing pipelines and asynchronous job execution platforms used by product teams.
• Define and enforce platform APIs, deployment standards, backward compatibility, and data-schema evolution.
• Mentor engineers, lead architectural reviews, and drive cross-team platform initiatives.
