Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Backend Systems Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale distributed backend services. You will shape core platforms, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and performance, while guiding other engineers and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.

The role focuses on architecture, data stores, and observability, with a strong emphasis on operational excellence and collaboration with SRE and platform teams to reduce toil.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Six or more years of professional backend engineering experience, with distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large-scale distributed backend systems in Java, Go, Scala or similar.
• Architect data partitioning, replication, and consistency strategies.
• Build resilient APIs and event-driven services with observability and idempotency.
• Optimize latency, throughput, and cost using profiling and load testing.
• Lead architecture reviews and design discussions.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and drive code quality and operational rigor.
• Partner with SRE and platform teams to improve reliability.
