Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly. We are seeking a Software Engineer to design a next-generation reliability platform for production systems, blending distributed systems with AI-assisted development.

This hands-on role emphasizes reliability, quality, and maintainability while shipping rapidly. You will own quarterly goals, collaborate across product and design, and lead through ambiguity.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Experience shipping web apps with React or Vue.
• Experience with LLMs or AI frameworks to enhance automation with guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product, design & analytics across the product lifecycle.
• Proactively identify and solve project, process or tech issues.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts and on-call efforts.
• Foster code quality standards and share practices beyond the team.
• Develop team talent through feedback and guidance.
