Job summary

Shipt is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Shopper Backend in Birmingham, AL. You will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary squad to design, build, and deploy high-performance, multi-region services using Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka.

You will own production systems with minimal travel, drive architectural decisions, and mentor peers while shaping the engineering culture of a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend software development experience in a cross-functional Agile environment.
• Proven ability to design, deploy, and own complex production services end-to-end.
• Experience building multi-region distributed systems and RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of high-performance, multi-region backend services.
• Mentor peers and drive architectural decisions across the Shopper Backend team.
• Analyze metrics and optimize non-functional requirements for production systems.
