Job summary

Affirm is hiring a Software Engineer for the Partner Merchant Interfaces - Integration team within Decisions Foundations. You will contribute to APIs used by Partners and Merchants, collaborate with your team and stakeholders, and help manage risk and trade-offs while delivering reliable software at scale.

You will work on backend systems, operate within a remote-first environment, and participate in growth and development activities across a fast-paced, globally distributed engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes).
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Write clear, well-tested, and extensible backend code interacting with multiple components.
• Navigate a large codebase, review others' code, and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with a global engineering team and stakeholders to balance speed and quality.
