EnergyHub is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Battery team in San Francisco. You will design and build backend services for residential battery programs, integrating OpenADR, IEEE 2030.5, and related smart grid standards while upholding strong security across the platform.

You will own integrations, collaborate with engineers and OEMs, and contribute to high-visibility projects that deliver direct client value and scalable grid solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with energy specifications such as OpenADR and IEEE 2030.5.
• Proficiency with Java/Spring stack.
• Expertise in RESTful APIs for external clients.
• Strong data modeling with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Knowledge of security best practices, auth frameworks, and API hardening.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain integrations with energy protocols and smart grid standards.
• Develop and maintain our client-facing REST API and backend logic.
• Integrate with distributed internal services to enable new product capabilities.
• Ensure security and data protection policies and monitoring are in place.
• Collaborate with product/engineers to improve requirements and quality.
• Update utility-facing Web portal to support new integrations.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
• Foster Dev Owns Quality culture.
• Other duties as assigned.
