Job summary

Weave is seeking a founding member of the Users Infrastructure team to architect the security and identity substrate for all Weave products. You will lead the transition to a modern IAM platform powered by SpiceDB and Go, and grow a new regional hub for a Tier-1 infrastructure unit.

This role is remote, reporting to the Manager of Engineering - Users Infrastructure. You will own identity lifecycle, authorization strategy, and the internal SDKs to enable 150+ engineers to integrate security

Qualifications

5+ years of backend engineering with distributed systems experience.
Deep understanding of AuthN/AuthZ primitives (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWT).
Experience designing and building gRPC-based microservices.
Ability to write Technical Design Documents bridging international stakeholders.
Familiarity with security best practices and zero-trust concepts.

Responsibilities

Own the core Identity and Access Management components for a globally distributed platform.
Define and implement authorization strategies for multi-tenant environments across regions.
Own internal SDKs, interfaces, and middleware to enable engineers to integrate security features.
Manage enterprise integration standards including SSO, SCIM, and secure M2M communication.
Improve system observability and incident response, including dashboards and runbooks.
Ensure data immutability and audit logging pipelines as the Source of Truth.
