Job summary

Weave is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer on the Users Infrastructure team to architect the foundational security and identity stack that powers our global platform. You will lead the transition to a modern IAM built with SpiceDB and Go, supporting authenticating every entity and secure, scalable access control.

This remote role reports to the Manager of Engineering - Users Infrastructure and requires 5+ years in backend engineering, deep knowledge of OAuth/OIDC, JWT, SAML, and distributed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering with distributed systems in Go.
• Deep understanding of AuthN/AuthZ primitives: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and JWT mechanics.
• System design: distributed architecture, data migrations, and gRPC-based microservices.
• Excellent written communication bridging India and US stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the Identity Lifecycle: authenticate every entity, human and machine.
• Define Authorization Strategy across multi-tenant orgs and locations.
• Own internal SDKs, gRPC contracts, and middleware for 150+ downstream engineers.
• Manage federated identity (SSO), SCIM provisioning, and secure M2M protocols.
• Improve observability and incident response for Tier-1 services.
• Support India-based regional hub and cross-timezone collaboration.
