Job summary

Makai Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for backend development in a fully remote role. You will design and implement scalable solutions with Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, and Docker, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities include feature development, performance optimization, and maintaining robust, well‑documented code across microservices. Strong English communication and remote work experience required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Python experience and 4+ years with Flask.
• Experience with SQLAlchemy and pydantic.
• Experience with Docker.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.
• Strong software engineering and maintainable code writing.
• Familiarity with modern authorization mechanisms.
• Experience working fully remote.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features using Flask.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to improve usability.
• Write robust, clean, and documented code.
• Maintain and enhance existing apps and applications.
• Conduct performance tests and ensure responsiveness and stability.
