Job summary

Raydar is recruiting for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join a financial services client in New York. You will own backend engineering from problem definition through production, collaborating with product and operations to shape a scalable platform handling sensitive financial data.

The role requires 6–12 years of backend experience, fintech exposure, and a proven ability to ship at scale. This hybrid position offers equity and medical coverage, with 3 in-office days per week in New York

Qualifications

• 6 to 12 years of backend engineering experience.
• Experience shipping production backend systems at scale.
• Fintech/healthtech background with payments, billing or claims.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Clear verbal and written communication with non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Take ambiguous initiatives, break them into workable pieces and carry them to production with minimal oversight.
• Make architecture and design decisions for the backend infrastructure.
• Partner with product and non-technical colleagues to define features and set direction.
• Build automation for transaction, billing and reimbursement workflows.
• Improve engineering tooling and processes as one of the first members of a small team.
