Común, a NYC-based fintech, is seeking a backend engineer to extend our banking features and support growing usage. You’ll work to strengthen the core deposit account and debit card experience, while designing our microservice architecture to bundle additional financial services.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, and other back-end engineers to ship robust features and ensure scalability as our team grows. This role is hybrid with NYC office access and remote options.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of Python and PostgreSQL experience.
• Bonus: GraphQL, DevOps (Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes), and pub/sub (Kafka).

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with product, design, and frontend to build new financial offerings.
• Work with backend peers to establish patterns and tooling to speed development.
• Maintain testing and observability to keep systems stable.
• Plan engineering execution with leadership across time horizons.
