Affirm is building the money movement platform behind our card products. This backend role focuses on high-throughput, distributed services, robust APIs, and data models to power real-time approvals, origination, and refunds.

Work with product, data science, and engineering to shape design decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure long-term reliability at scale. Remote-first with flexibility within the United States.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of software development or engineering experience.
• Strong system design and architecture knowledge.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin or similar languages.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization, plus RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Aufgaben

• Lead end-to-end system design of large-scale, high-availability services.
• Build robust APIs and data models for micro-services and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Accounting on requirements.
• Analyze issues, optimize code, and drive long-term robustness and scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical design reviews.
