Job summary

Affirm is hiring a Software Engineer to help build the money movement and card ledger systems that power our Pay Over Time products. You will own quarterly goals, lead engineers, and work with product, design, and analytics to ship scalable, reliable backend services.

You will design and implement high-availability systems in AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes, advocate for quality, and mentor teammates to grow technically and professionally.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with highly available distributed systems in AWS and MySQL.
• Ability to define a technical plan for major features with elegant, extensible design.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics to balance risks and trade-offs.
• Identify issues and drive solutions across processes, technology, or business areas.
• Maintain and monitor team artifacts, metrics and on-call readiness.
• Help raise the bar for code quality and design standards across teams.
