Job summary

Affirm is hiring for a backend leadership role within its Card Loan Platform team. You will architect and build high-availability services, APIs, and data models for a scalable micro-service ecosystem powering real-time decisions.

You will collaborate with product, analytics, design, legal, and accounting to implement lifecycle strategies and ensure system health while mentoring engineers across the organization. This is a remote-first opportunity across the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with system design and architecture.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containers.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy by leading planning, prioritization, and execution of projects.
• Lead end-to-end system design and development of large-scale, high-availability services.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Design, Legal, and Accounting to define requirements and lifecycle strategy.
• Ensure system health and performance by analyzing and solving complex issues.
• Mentor and grow the team, leading technical discussions and design reviews.
