Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Financing Engineering team within the Institutional group. You will design, build, and scale backend services that manage billions of dollars in loans across Portfolio Margin, Trade Finance, Agency Lending, Bilateral Lending, and more.

You will own critical backend services, drive reliability, and mentor engineers while partnering with Product, Risk, Operations, and other teams to deliver scalable solutions each quarter.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling service-oriented architectures for high-reliability financial workloads.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead design reviews.
• Cloud-native experience with relational stores, monitoring, and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of new financing products and features from architecture through production launch.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and frameworks for loan lifecycle management and risk calculations.
• Improve tooling, testing infrastructure, monitoring, and reliability of financing systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Operations, and other teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen system resilience and enable safe, speedy shipping.
