Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to own the backend systems powering settlements and transfers for institutional clients. You will design, build, and scale services across fiat, crypto, and internal ledgers, mentor engineers, and drive architectural improvements to boost reliability and velocity.

You will work with product managers and cross-functional teams to translate product vision into quarterly technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
Production experience with Go and relational data stores.
Ability to own system design decisions and lead technical proposals.
Experience identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues in distributed systems.
Mentoring engineers and promoting high code quality.

Responsibilities

Own the design, build, and scaling of backend services for settlements and transfers.
Lead performance and scalability improvements for critical financial infrastructure.
Drive architectural improvements to accelerate velocity and reduce tech debt.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on best practices and growth.
Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to deliver Roadmaps.
