Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Overseer team within FinHub to build and scale the real-time integrity layer that ensures financial correctness across fund flows.

You will own workstreams end-to-end, design correctness models, deploy production services, and mentor others, while collaborating with Payments, Trading, and other teams. The role is remote-first with quarterly in-person surges and a competitive base salary.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Experience in financial systems, payments, reconciliation or high-reliability transactional infra.
• Backend programming in Go, Ruby or Python; APIs/frameworks or detection systems.
• Ability to own workstreams end-to-end in ambiguous environments; production operations.
• Experience with streaming data infra and distributed data stores in real-time contexts.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale real-time invariant enforcement systems across fund flows.
• Own workstreams end-to-end from design to production operation.
• Develop AI-powered guardrails and predictive consistency models.
• Partner with FinHub, Payments, and Trading to design correctness contracts.
• Mentor junior engineers on distributed systems and production practices.
