Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Billing Core team. You will own key billing systems, build scalable Python services, and ensure data integrity across usage data and invoices.

You will collaborate with Product, SRE, and Cloud Infrastructure to raise engineering quality and reliability. You will design data pipelines, manage PostgreSQL schemas, and lead projects end-to-end while mentoring others and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in backend engineering with Python and PostgreSQL.
• Experience building and operating data pipelines or event-driven systems.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and reliability at scale.
• Background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong technical judgment and clear communication.

Responsabilités

• Own and improve billing data pipelines for usage ingestion, transformation, and reconciliation.
• Design and build reliable, scalable backend services in Python with data integrity focus.
• Own PostgreSQL schema design and query performance for billing data.
• Lead small to medium projects end-to-end within the team.
• Improve observability and reliability of core billing systems via monitoring and incident response.
• Participate in code and design reviews; act as a trusted reviewer for stack area.
• Mentor junior engineers through feedback, pairing, and design discussions.
• Collaborate with Product and Tech Leads to shape priorities and technical direction.
• Take part in on-call rotations and contribute to production readiness.
