Elastic is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the Billing Core domain. You will design scalable billing systems, improve reliability, and collaborate with Product, SRE, and Cloud Infra teams. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering, architecture decisions, and cross-team leadership.

You will own data architecture for PostgreSQL, shape API design, and mentor engineers while driving deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD improvements in a global, async environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend or platform engineering.
• Proven reliability and incident-response improvements in production systems.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Own complex billing and account systems across services and clouds.
• Build large-scale data pipelines for billing data ingestion and reconciliation.
• Improve observability, incident response, and reliability of core billing systems.
