Elastic, the Search AI Company, seeks a Principal Software Engineer for the Billing Experience domain. You will own complex billing and account systems, design APIs, shape user-facing features, and drive scale, reliability, and developer productivity across UTC teams in a global, distributed environment.

You will mentor engineers, lead multi-quarter initiatives, collaborate with Product, Design, SRE, and Cloud Infrastruture teams, and help ensure production readiness through automation and

Qualifications

8+ years in backend or full-stack engineering with API focus.
Experience building developer- or customer-facing APIs at scale.
Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Frontend tech exposure (React or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Own complex billing and account management systems and APIs.
Lead API design and standardization for internal and external consumers.
Build full-stack features in Elastic Cloud consoles.
Improve observability, reliability, and DevOps practices for billing services.
Shape architecture for scale and modularity and guide data modeling.
